Why we exist
Animation has moved audiences since the earliest hand-drawn frames flickered to life. It has made the impossible feel real, given emotion a shape, and carried stories across languages without losing a word of meaning. ANIMOTION exists to celebrate that art form, in all its forms, and to give the people who practice it an international home.
What ANIMOTION is
ANIMOTION is an annual international contest and a permanent, curated showcase. Every project that reaches the showcase has passed an editorial review focused on craft, storytelling, and originality -- never on popularity, and never decided by a vote.
It is not a talent agency, a distributor, or a marketplace, and it does not promise funding, representation, or a career. What it offers is visibility, recognition among peers, and a place in a permanent, growing archive of independent animation.
An international home
Creators arrive at ANIMOTION from every part of the world, working alone or in small studios, in film schools and in bedrooms, on feature-length productions and thirty-second experiments. What they share is a devotion to the craft, and ANIMOTION is built to welcome all of it.
Every form of the craft
ANIMOTION welcomes feature films, short films, television series, animated episodes, student films, independent productions, stop motion, traditional animation, 3D animation, motion graphics, experimental work, game cinematics, and techniques that have not been invented yet. If it moves, and someone imagined it into being, it belongs here.
