Who can participate
Any creator, anywhere in the world -- an individual animator, a student, a small studio, or an established production -- may submit a finished animated project for editorial consideration. There is no entry fee.
Eligible animation formats
Feature films, short films, television series, animated episodes, student films, independent productions, stop motion, traditional animation, 3D animation, motion graphics, experimental animation, game cinematics, and emerging techniques not listed here -- if it is animated, it is eligible.
Annual editorial selection
Every submission is watched in full and reviewed by curators for craft, storytelling, and originality -- never by public vote. See our Editorial Process page for exactly how that review works.
The permanent showcase
Projects approved through editorial review join the permanent ANIMOTION showcase, where they remain publicly discoverable indefinitely -- not just for the duration of a single edition.
Gold, Silver and Bronze
Once each year, a three-stage contest narrows that edition's submissions down through Official Selection and Finalist to a final Gold, Silver and Bronze ranking -- a mark of excellence, never a guarantee offered to every accepted project.
Creator rights
You keep every right to your work. Submitting to ANIMOTION only grants us permission to display your project in the showcase -- never a transfer of ownership, and never a production, funding, or distribution deal.
The submission process
Create a free ANIMOTION account, prepare your project details (title, synopsis, credits, poster, and a link to where it is hosted), and submit it from your Creator Dashboard. See our Submission Guidelines for the full checklist.
